Exploring New Trails
Phyllis Weiss founded Weiss Communications, Inc. in 1998 to elevate brands through creative communications and tactical public relations.
She is laser focused on results:
Helping companies demonstrate their commitment to inclusion, innovation and more.
Generating worldwide interest in a model for breaking the cycle of poverty.
Raising the profile of a minority-owned business or the “Grandma Moses” of filmmaking.
Advancing the mission and financial stability of nonprofit organizations.
Inspiring key audiences to act.
Phyllis builds on decades of experience in journalism, public relations and community relations. She was AT&T corporate affairs director in Atlanta and information director, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials on Capitol Hill. She began her career as a journalist for newspapers including the Prince George’s Journal, which competed with the Washington Post on local news coverage.
She has served in leadership roles with Horizon Theatre Company, 7 Stages Theatre, Ben Franklin Academy Board of Overseers, Atlanta AIDS Fund, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund and Women’s Transportation Seminar, among other nonprofit organizations. She is a proud graduate of Leadership Atlanta and Atlanta’s Midtown Alliance Leadership Program. In her spare time, Phyllis sings with the Emory University Chorus or hikes a new trail.
