Picking Apples

Picking apples is a lot like connecting with your audiences.

Sometimes, the juiciest apples or prime targets may be on the lower limbs. At other times, they may be on the highest branches and require some major stretching. In any case, success in the apple orchard or competitive marketplace hinges on being picky and persistent and trying to avoid the rotten apples.

Every fall, our Atlanta family heads to a North Georgia farm for fresh apples. We huff and puff through the hilly fields – carefully avoiding the pollinating bees and decomposing piles – to fill plastic bags with our favorite varieties for making apple pie and apple butter.

As I savor the last morsel of a homemade apple pie, I’d love to learn how you pick your public relations strategies. Let’s talk about new ways to sweeten your connections with customers and communities.
